I really enjoy orthodontics because it allows me to have an artistic output. My attention to detail allows me to provide my patients with the beautiful smile they have always wanted. In a way, my patient’s smile becomes my canvas. It is also immensely rewarding to see how my patients’ new smiles have a positive impact in their lives. In the moment when they get to see themselves in the mirror for the first time without braces, I can just see it in their face that they are beyond ecstatic to finally have that show-stopping smile.
My profession is a way for me to make a positive and meaningful contribution to my society. At times, we also see patients with severe malocclusions that cause speech impediments, difficulty eating, or even breathing. For these patients, braces are life changing, and seeing that change and how it affects their quality of life makes my work extremely rewarding.
